Matt Reynolds
Position title: Assistant Professor
I grew up in Clarksville, TN, with an interest in biology. I know many of Madison’s quirks, having received my undergraduate (’98) and graduate (’06) degrees from UW. My research interests include the adaptive immune responses to AIDS virus infections. Outside the lab, I am an avid UW basketball fan and rarely miss home games. At home, I live with my wife, Carrie, three cats, and a dog.
Jason Weinfurter

A long-time member of the AVRL team, Jason leads our vaccine studies and is a master of all things cellular immunology.
Lea Matschke
Position title: Graduate Student
A graduate of Southern Illinois University (Go Salukis) and student in the Comparative Biomedical Sciences Program (CBMS) program. Lea heads our efforts to develop an in vitro SIV latency model.
MegAnn Haubold
Position title: Graduate Student
A graduate of Clemson University (Go Tigers) and a student in the Cancer Biology Graduate Program. Megan is examining the integration of SIV into host chromosomes.
Ally McCullen
Position title: Graduate Student
Ally is a graduate student in the Cellular and Molecular Pathology program. Originally from Oregon, she earned her undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University (Go Zags!) and joins us from the Sacha lab at Oregon Health & Science University.
